  • A new day has come

...But I'm quoting the wrong showgirl. I just bought my tickets to see The Divine Miss M in Vegas, baby! I am so excited. December won't come fast enough. It'll be my 3rd time to see my beloved Bette, but my first visit to  Vegas. Yaaayy!

I'll be back to update my lifes happenings later.

  • Ticket for one

So I go the movies by myself quite often. It's actually one of my favorite things to do. Don't get me wrong- I also love going with friends, family, or Travis- but going alone is so relaxing! It's nice not having to worry if the person you are with isn't enjoying the movie (like when Trav has accompanied me to a chick flick), or if something is happening that could be offensive to them. Nothing is more embarrassing than watching a sex scene with your parents, ya know? ...not that I enjoy it either. Anyway, a couple years ago I just got tired of not always having someone around to see movies with, and of wanting to see the independent type films that no one else I knew was interested in. At first I felt kind of strange about it but after the first time I was hooked. It's the perfect escape for me. I can totally lose myself for 2 hours (sometimes 4) and have uninterrupted me time without thinking or stressing about anything else. It's also much cheaper for me to go because I usually catch the Early-bird special!

That being said, Thursday I went for a solitary double feature and saw Smart People and Nim's Island. Smart People was pretty funny, but I thought Nim's was childish. The actors were good, but the story was weak..definite kids movie. However, I can't really complain since I snuck in and saw it for free after SP. Then Friday I went to see Made of Honor. I thought it was cute but nothing special. Patrick Dempsey was fun to watch though and it was a perfect Friday movie.

  • Something to celebrate

Last night Travis and I celebrated our 4 year anniversay  We really don't know the exact date that we started dating, but we consider it to be May 3rd. It's been a great 4 years. I feel so blessed to have found Travis and look forward to many more anniversaries! He surprised me yesterday with delivered flowers. They are so beautiful and smell divine! The fragrance keeps drifting over here as I type and I'm lovin' it.

Also, when he got home from work he was carrying a big box and inside it was the Coach purse I have been wishing for. Isn't he the greatest? Here I am cheesing it up with my present :)

For dinner we went to The Melting Pot, which I have been wanting to do. Oh my. The food was so good and we had a lot of fun. We didn't know you had to cook your own entree (which made me nervous at first) but it made for a great experience!

  • I slept in this morning and it was so nice! I feel much more rested. I need to get moving because I am going to visit Travis today and I have yet to pack. I'm excited to see him! It's only been a few days since I last saw him, but just knowing he doesn't live one street over anymore has taken some getting used to.

I'm out of school for this month so I should be relaxing but I keep feeling like I have so much to do! I spent several hours the other night trying to organize a few things in my room, trrying to get ready for packing it up at some point, and I feel like I didn't even make a dent. I always wonder how I'll manage a house one day when right now just one room overwhelms me. Hopefully I'll be able to just chill at Travis'. I won't be able to stress about my room if I'm not in it, right? I want to go to the movies. I've been meaning to see Smart People, and then Friday I want to see Made of Honor. At first I didn't think I wanted to because it sounds like almost an exact copy of My Best Friend's Wedding, but Patrick Dempsey has won me over.
